How to extinguish a candle without blowing

Description: An experiment showing how carbon dioxide can put out a flame without air movement.

Objective


To demonstrate that gases can extinguish fire.

Materials


- Candle
- Vinegar and baking soda
- Cup

Procedure


1. Mix vinegar and baking soda to make CO₂.
2. Pour the invisible gas over the flame.

Conclusion


Carbon dioxide replaces oxygen and stops the flame.
